How to restore lost save files.

If you lost your in-game progress this guide should help you with getting your save files back and running.
We’re going to try accessing the backed-up save files and move them back to the original save location.

We’ve prepared 2 instructions, depending on the system you’re on:

Windows

Make sure that House Flipper is closed.

Localize a folder called Profiles.

This folder is responsible for storing your current save files.
To find it simply paste the path shown below into the location bar.

[Windows] Paste this path into the location bar:

[Windows] Paste this path into the location bar:

%appdata%\..\LocalLow\Empyrean\House Flipper Game\

Paste the path shown in the Windows tab (found above) into the location bar, as shown below:

Localize a folder called Profiles.backup.

This folder is responsible for storing backed up save files. The event of backing up save files happens every time you play House Flipper for more than 30 minutes. Only 5 latest backups are stored for each profile.

This folder can be found in the same path as the previous one.

Windows

Access the Profiles.backup folder and find the Profile you lost your progress on.

Check the modification date to know how long ago the last backup happened:

In Profiles.backup access the profile you lost your progress on to find 5 folders containing the latest backup files, with the exact date of the backup stated in the name:

Now open one of these folders and copy all the files found inside.

Finally, navigate back to the Profiles folder, access the Profile you lost your progress on, delete all the files inside and paste the copied files instead.

EXAMPLE: You go to the Profiles.backup folder, you access Profile 1 and open the latest backup folder there is. Now, you see a bunch of files which need to be copied. After doing that, you go to the Profiles folder find the profile number you lost your progress on (in this example it’s Profile 1). Now, inside the Profiles folder you open Profile 1, delete all the files in there and paste the files you just copied.

Now, all there is to do is just to launch House Flipper and check if everything works correctly.

If it doesn’t work or the backup folder is either EMPTY or completely GONE…

  1. Make sure that you performed all the steps correctly!

  2. Try using an alternative backup folder. Start off by again finding the location bar:

Then paste the path “C:\Users\<your username here>\Documents\House Flipper\Profiles.backup” in there to access the alternative backup location.

  3. The rest of steps remains the same.

We’re really sorry for the inconvenience and we’re currently putting lots of effort to make sure the save files will be more secure in the future.
